Bethany Honors Our Graduates

Bethany recognized three graduates on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Luke Bailey, from Pamlico County High School, Parker Watson from NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill, and Macy Tyson from NC State.

Lucas Bailey, son of Kelli and Robert Bailey and grandson of Rev. Merritt Watson and Linda, is 2024 top 10 scholar of Pamlico County, Beta Club member and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. Luke was one of five students chosen from Pamlico and the surrounding counties to receive a paid apprenticeship with B/H/S. His course of study will be mechatronics, a degree specializing in electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. Upon completion of his associates degree, he will work full time for B/H/S and receive tuition costs toward his four year engineering degree. Luke enjoys golf and has played on the High School golf team for three years. Luke is also an avid outdoorsman and grill master!

Parker Watson, son of Melissa and Chris Watson and grandson of Rev. Merritt Watson and Linda Watson, will be receiving a BS in Biomedical Engineering from both NC State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Though the coursework is rigorous, Parker has maintained his status on the Dean's List. Parker has also worked as a TA (teaching assistant) in the engineering department and worked an eight-month co-op at Nutrien -Aurora. He is currently working a three-month internship at Nutrien in AHF. Once that is completed, Parker will return to NC State to finish the last of his coursework before graduating in December 2024. Parker relaxes by playing Ultimate Frisbee and running.

Macy Tyson, daughter of Robbie and Tara Tyson, granddaughter of Suellen Manning graduated with a BS in Agricultural Business Management from NC State University. Macy is a member of AZD sorority. Currently she is working an internship with Southern Industrial Constructors out of Raleigh and is interested in construction management. In Macy's down time she enjoys spending time with her roommates and catching NC State football games. She is pictured above with her roommate's pet, Alice.
