CMF Work Day
The CMF trims the shrubbery surrounding the columbarium. This requires heavy equipment. There were seventeen men volunteering their Saturday morning to tackle some yardwork for the church. Trees were trimmed, piles of debris moved, shrubbery cut, and general clean up happening behind Bethany on February 21. Our CMF can not only cook, but they can do some heavy landscaping too. Thank you all!

The snowy conditions have also created challenging driving conditions. Due to the risks, Bethany decided to cancel all services and meetings on January 24 and February 1, 2026 and all of the days following February 1 until February 8 when we held worship services again. It was great to be back among fami

Bethany Cancels Feb. 1 Worship Service
Reports of snow accumulations of 18 inches in Pamlico County. photo: Melissa Watson Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, a chance for snow was an exciting and rare occurrence. It meant no school, and it meant fun in the snow, and it may mean being snowbound in the house with no electricity---all exciting things to happen for a child. If my grandmother, Estelle, spotted a snowflake, she would call her brother, Pat, to report the sighting. We would all run to the giant front w

Bethany Cancels January 25, 2026 Worship Service
Snow January 2025 Last year, January 22, 2025, Pamlico County was covered in snow. This January weathermen forecasted another snow plus ice for most of North Carolina. As a response, our church made the call to cancel services for January 25, 2026. We also cancelled and rescheduled any activities planned for January 25, such as the New Member Potluck which will now be February 1. We will resume our regular schedule next week. Thank you. Enjoy the snow and stay safe.

A Long Standing Tradition
Saturday, November 8, 2025, Bethany sees the return of a long standing tradition, the Harvest Dinner. This meal is legendary. Now, I am not sure when it started, but I do know that in 1988 when I first started attending Bethany, it was a very old and revered (sometimes feared) tradition. Back in the day, before my day, they served homemade biscuits with the meal. Other than switching to store bought rolls, not much else about the meal changed, and it was always the first week
