Today is a day that is eagerly awaited by football fans across the country; the Super Bowl. This year the Chiefs and Eagles will play against each other in New Orleans! It promises to be an exciting game for sure. The CWF of Bethany decided Monday night to have a Souper Sunday and do a fundraising kick-off for the year 2025!

The ladies of CWF provided 5 kinds of soups (potato and also Gnocchi by Christine Beeman, taco by Shirley Ensley, Beef and vegetable by Terry McCotter, and vegetable by Gloria Cowell) , three types of sandwiches (pb&J by Gloria Cowell, Chicken Salad by Juanita A, and pimento cheese by Renee Midyette), and lots of desserts for the congregation to enjoy such as Margaret Harrell's delicious chews, Ms. Polly Surprenant's brownies, and cookies by Janice. and Janci Cahoon provided the beverages (thank all of you wonderful ladies). Donations accepted but no reservation or pre-order was required. All donations are to go towards the CWF 2025 budget. CWF uses its budget to help sponsor youth to camp, to support emergency needs (such as Western North Carolina after the hurricane), local charities (such as Hospice) and church projects.

We thank everyone for attending and extend a special welcome and thank you to Rev. Dr. Laura Wood who was our guest minister today. Our Souper Sunday was indeed super...and tasty, and we hope all of your Super Bowl celebrations are fun and safe!
