What Your CWF Has Been Doing Lately

The Christian Women’s Fellowship Fundraising Committee (CWF-F), Jennie Adams, Juanita Arrington, Janci Cahoon, Sandra Holton, Terry McCotter, Renee Midyette, and Melissa Watson, and the many others who were recruited to help, have been very busy the last several months. In January, the CWF increased its budget to give more money to youth incentives for camp and other things. This required additional funds, so the ladies planned a series of meals to help generate the revenue. We planned four meals; the first meal was a cold plate sold to the ACS faculty and staff on May 1. The next meal was also a cold plate here at the church immediately following worship on July 28, and the third meal was the “Slammin’ Hammie” meal at ACS on Wednesday, August 7. The fourth and most recent meal, BBQ chicken with baked beans, coleslaw, pound cake and a roll, was Friday, October 4th. This time we scheduled the meal for a weeknight supper and invited the community as well as our church people. It was delicious.
In addition to the four meals, the committee has also been preparing to participate in ACS’ Fall Festival on October 18. Juanita Arrington shared her amazing talent and has led three craft days at the church where everyone was invited to come and make crafts and spend time together. Margaret Harrell generously prepared meals every day for the group. Thank you Margaret! We will also be selling cookies at the fall festival. On behalf of the entire committee, I want to thank everyone for your support, all of the mentioned people, anyone that was possibly not mentioned but should have been, and all the people who bought the meals. It has been a lot of work, but it has also been a tremendous amount of fun, and a time to bond with each other. We are making memories and supporting our community …Melissa Watson
