New Officers of the Diaconate 2026-2028

Rev. Amanda blesses our new diaconate officers: Terry McCotter and Emily Harper.

Sunday, November 2, the diaconate met for its last scheduled meeting of 2025. They met with near perfect attendance and reviewed recent services. Chair complimented the group on its willingness to try a new way of serving and on its flexibility as we implemented the new way of serving. Our members not only have had to learn a new way to serve but also have been called upon to acolyte which is also a new duty for the diaconate. Members have been willing to jump in and substitute when needed as well as perform other duties as required.  We had six new people to join the church with four baptisms with which we assisted. It has been an active and blessed two years. We will be sponsoring the New Member Dinner in January 2026. More to come on that later.

The last order of business was to to vote on a new slate of officers for the two-year term beginning in 2026. We welcome Terry McCotter as the next secretary for the diaconate and Emily Harper as the next chair of the diaconate. They were called forward for prayer and a blessing by Rev. Amanda Moore. Rev. Amanda thanked the 'outgoing officers' Margaret Harrell, secretary, and Melissa Watson, chair, for serving the 2023-2025 term.
