ACTS 2:1-3 (NIV) When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

Pentecost Sunday is fifty days after Easter and is the beginning of the Christian Church. This year at Bethany, Rev. Dr. Laura Wood provided our message wearing "the flames on her head." After the message, we enjoyed cake to celebrate and mark the church's birthday.

The flowers, provided by From the Heart florist of Bayboro, represent the flames that were on the people's heads but did not consume.
