Today is a special day. Not only do we have a dear friend of Rev. Osgood and Christy Beach, Kathy Reingar, giving our worship message, but we also are honoring our mothers today both before and during worship. We had 61 people in church to celebrate with us. It has been an old tradition at Bethany to recognize the youngest/newest mother, the woman who has been a mother the longest and the mother who has the most children. We recognize each mom with a corsage and standing ovation by the congregation. This is a dear tradition for us, and it was especially fun today with a tie for the most children; plus, our guest minister was honored for traveling the furthest to get to church. She travelled here from Wilmington. Gloria Cowell and Janice Woodard tied for the most children, Ashleigh Bailey was our newest mom today and Suellen Manning was recognized for being a mother the longest.
We also celebrated our mothers by providing them with a wonderful light brunch of muffins, fruit and juice. The ladies really put out a spread today. Christine Beeman organized all the goodies and many hands assisted including Renee Midyette, Jennie Adams, and Linda Watson. Thank you ladies, and thank you everyone who helped make our mothers feel special today.
