I can not remember exactly what year Torrie retired. It was after Covid but not by much. He stayed with us longer to calm the craziness of Covid before he officially retired and then the search began for a new minister.

No one seemed to be a fit for us. It is a lot of work that a Pastor Search Committee has to do to find a new minister. We looked at profiles, applications, videos, everything during our search, and we created profiles and letters explaining who we are and what we expect. Still, there just was not a candidate that we felt would be able to lead us forward. The disappointment we felt was discouraging, but we did not let that stop us. Finally, we found Rev. Amanda Hatfield Moore. She "checked all the boxes" as they say. She had all the qualities that we wanted. After many conversations and a visit, we learned that we were what Rev. Amanda wanted too! Our search was over, and we are ecstatic!

We officially recognized Rev. Amanda as our minister June 22, 2025. She gave her first message as our pastor and was amazing.

After the worship service, the CWF honored Rev. Amanda and Justin Moore and their daughter Lydia with a BBQ lunch provided by Moore's BBQ of New Bern. We are so happy to welcome this family as our own.
